Amstel Global Umbrella Fund SICAV Plc is a collective investment scheme organised as a self-managed multi-fund investment company with variable share capital. It has an Umbrella Structure having one or more underlying sub-funds, which structure gives the company the flexibility of setting up a diversified portfolio of funds. Currently the company has one sub-fund, Amstel Dynamic Fund. Our investment objective is to achieve stable long-term results with risks under control.

Amstel Global Umbrella Fund SICAV Plc is licensed by the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) as a self-managed fund for professional investors.

The MFSA is the single regulator for financial services in Malta and is also responsible for consumer education and consumer protection.

Malta is an EU-jurisdiction that complies with and helps develop international best practice and is actively involved with the OECD, the EU and the Commonwealth in modelling global regulatory policy. Malta's development as an international financial centre is reflected in the range of financial services available. The country continues to be positively ranked for its performance in the financial sector. The World Economic Forum's Global Competitiveness Index 2015-2016 placed Malta amongst the top 20 financial jurisdictions.

The team members of Amstel have a long experience in the Financial Services Sector.

Alex van Leyen (MA Management Science); Managing Director and portfolio manager for Amstel Global Umbrella Fund SICAV Plc. He has been working in the financial services industry for 21 years. Before his current roles he was managing director and portfolio manager at Amstel Capital (Malta) Limited for 16 years, portfolio Manager at Amstel Capital Management B.V., the Netherlands and Research Analyst for a period of 5 years.

Dr. Omar Zerafa (LL.M. (Leicester), LL.D); Independent Director for the Amstel Global Umbrella Fund SICAV Plc. Dr. Zerafa graduated from the University of Malta with a Doctors of Law Degree in 2010 following which he also obtained a Masters of Law in European Commercial Law from the University of Leicester, UK. In 2010 he started working for a financial services law firm in Malta where he was promoted to Partnership. In 2014 Dr. Zerafa established his own practice specialising in financial services, corporate and commercial law. Dr. Zerafa is a member of the Maltese Chamber of Advocates, Finance Malta, the Institute of Financial Service Practitioners, the Financial Services Lawyers Association (UK) and the International Bar Association. He also holds a Certificate in Trusts Law and Management.

Kyle Debono (MA Finance); Executive Director and Money Laundering Reporting Officer for Amstel Global Umbrella Fund SICAV Plc and its affiliated Fund. Mr. Debono holds a Masters in Finance specializing in Financial Sector Management, from the University of London and a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Banking and Finance (Honours) from the University of Malta. He had started his professional career in the financial services industry back in 2007, through which he has gained hands-on experience across a selection of different roles, such as fund advisory, portfolio management, investment consulting, branch management, anti-money laundering, governance and risk and compliance. Mr. Debono is an avid researcher in the sphere of investment services and the local financial services industry. He is also a visiting lecturer within the Banking and Finance Department (FEMA Faculty) of the University of Malta. He is a member of various entities such as the Malta Association of Compliance Officers (MACO) and the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners (IFSP).
